Chinese Wedding Speech - The Grand Tradition

Chinese Wedding Speech - The Grand Tradition

The Chinese are very traditional when it comes to weddings. The tradition goes beyond the ceremony itself. That is why the Chinese wedding speech is a very important part of the reception. It is done by a hired emcee (master of ceremonies) that will officiate the whole reception.

Chinese Wedding Speech: All About Tradition

The traditional speech at a wedding in China starts out just like our similar speeches. At first, emcee introduces himself and welcomes all who join the joyous occasion. Then he would congratulate the bride and groom for finding each other, and wish them good luck for their journey together. After this, he will then ask each of the important people in the couple's life to say a few words for the bride and groom.

After the bridesmaids, best man and the parents of each of the couple, the emcee will ask the bride and groom to say a few words. After this, he will go to the official cutting of the cake where the bride and groom would feed each other and their parents as well. This will show solidarity among the families, and will give them a symbolic chance to unite just like their children.

A wedding speech is one of Chinese traditions, and how the husband and wife should treat each other during their marriage. The parents of the bride and groom are usually the ones who give advice about family life, and how the couple should treat each other as they continue on their journey as a married couple.

The traditional wedding color in China is red as opposed to the western tradition's white color. It symbolizes peace and prosperity for the couple and for their families as well. The Chinese, more often than not, include something about tradition in their speeches at weddings. This is to remind the newlyweds about how important is this to the Chinese culture.

The Chinese Wedding Speech: A Window to the Eastern Soul

A Chinese wedding is one of the many ways through which tradition is given importance. That is why, it is imperative for the Chinese to instill the value of tradition in their wedding speeches. The Chinese do this to pass on the great knowledge, which their ancestors have given them from generation to generation.

Therefore, if you are invited to a Chinese wedding, then be sure that you know their traditions and how to conduct yourself during the occasion itself. It is done because you do not end up embarrassing the couple and yourself in front of the whole crowd.

The Chinese wedding speech not only shows you how important is the tradition to them, but also how they show their love through their spoken words in the speech.

If you listen to it very closely, you would not find many differences between the western and eastern wedding speeches. Both cultures take it as an opportunity to express their love and affection for the couple. It shows that love goes beyond nationality and tradition.

Brother of the Groom Wedding Speech

The brother of the wedding groom wedding speech should be written with sincerity, as it most likely to shed light on the character of the groom more than any other speech delivered on the wedding day. As a brother, the writer is more likely to know some hilarious moments about the groom which if incorporated in the short wedding speech would provide an entertaining break for the wedding party.

The brother of the groom wedding speech should also consider the different aspects of the audience. Such are like age and familiarity. The first part of written short wedding speech should tell about the two brothers' experiences in life and qualities that they shared. At this point in the brother of the groom wedding speech, tasteful jokes and anecdotes can be included to set the mood for the rest of the speech. The brother can tell of how life would change after the wedding. The entire short wedding speech should be written in a colorful manner that should not embarrass the groom.

Should the writer know some details of how the brother met his bride, he can give some details on that. The brother of the groom wedding speech also gives him the chance to make fun of the grooms' behavior during the dating period. He can for example tell in a lighthearted manner of how time spent between them had dramatically reduced. To capture the audience' attention the speech can reminisce on old times shared between the two brothers. The writer can also use the brother of the groom wedding speech to give insight in to marriage- if he is married- or portray his hopes of getting married in future if he is still single. At this point, a reference to the wedding vows can be made.

Ideally, the brother of the groom wedding speech should be part of the short wedding speeches that are use by the grooms' family for welcome the bride to the new family setting. The writer can also express his love for the groom by using simple love quotes incorporated in to the speech. In order to deliver a good brother of the groom wedding speech, one should prepare and practice well in advance. If possible, read the short wedding speech loud to family members who can give their opinions.

Finally the brother of the groom wedding speech should be thoughtful, considerate and a reflection of the brotherly love that exists between the groom and the writer. The brother of the groom wedding speech can be something like, "As all of you can see, I am one lucky guy. TT has finally wed and he will no longer overtake my weekend shopping. I hope he will not give his wife as much problems as he did me. Guys, I could not even have a nice meal without him popping in. On the other hand, I miss his sports shoes, which I used to borrow too often. TT you can still change your mind and give them to me. I am glad that you have finally wed; I was so worried that you would drop dead from chasing the beautiful girl standing next to you today."

Speeches For Weddings - The Father of Bride Wedding Speech

Part of the success of a wedding reception is beyond doubt the inviting and humorous speeches and toast delivered by the wedding party. The speeches for a wedding are rendered for the newlyweds by the father of the bride, the best man, bridesmaids, mom of the bride, father of the groom, and mom of the groom. In this article, we're going to frame the contents of the father of the bride speech.

Traditionally, the father of the bride is the first to deliver a speech. He is called upon by the toast expert to publicly welcome his new son in law and share his sentiments with his daughter. He is given about 5 to 7 minutes to perform this task. It is a good idea to include the following items in the speech:

Cakes Delivered

-Welcoming and thanking all the family, friends, and guest especially the ones that traveled from afar.
-Introduces wife or mom of the bride to guest that are unfamiliar.
-Thanking the bridal party for their sustain and assistance for the wedding preparation: the wedding officiant, caterer, toast expert (emcee), or Dj.
-Welcoming the parents of the groom as part of the house and thanking them for their love and support.
-Offering a toast, congratulating the new bride and groom, and publicly welcoming the groom as new member of the family.

Speeches for weddings include some speeches from the discrete members of the groom and bride families, the best man, and bridesmaids. They offer their sentiments and fun memories in a inviting and humorous fashion. But the father of the bride has the privilege of being the first to do so.

Father of the Groom Speech

The father of the groom speech is in the majority of cases not seen as one of the prime speeches at a wedding. No doubt the best man speech or even the father of the bride speech can be seen as a given speech, but nowadays the father of the groom and his delivery of the speech are seen as equally important. This speech gives the father a chance to greet the bride's family and welcome his son's wife in to their family. It is also crucial to emphasize that you will always be there for them in times of need. This speech should be delivered with an element of humor and also placing a slight emphasis on serious talk.

I will admit it is not that easy to deliver a speech after such ones like the best man speech where the guests will all be falling off their chairs in laughter or even leaving some in disgust. This speech is designed to make guest laugh and give an insight in to the groom's life and some of the mischief they have got up to in their past. Sometimes a little too much can be revealed. Then not to forget is the bride's father who steps up to give his speech and this in the majority of cases is where things can get soppy.

Cakes Delivered

You need to prepare well for your delivery as there is nothing worse than getting up there and not having a clue what to say. Remember you do not need to get too personal in yours.

So how should I start?

Greet the bride's family and welcome her in to yours. Tell her she looks fabulous and that you are sure her and your son will be happy together. Her family will love you for this. Something many people do not do is add a story of their son from his childhood. These usually go down really well. Make sure you do at least one of these. If it is something that will be embarrassing then that is perfect. Just make sure not to mention a girl that he was with when he was younger, you do not want to start anything controversial. Make sure you give some advice to the newly married couple and draw from your own experience if you like. This will make your advice that little bit more personal. This is the perfect place to add a joke. It could be anything like remember son when a womans wrong always pretend she's right.

Finally, do not make the father of the groom speech too long, you don't want to bore people but rather give advice, add some humor and then finish and wish them the best of luck with their marriage.
